Curvy lake in Berlins southwest

General Facts

The “Schlachtensee” is a lake in the southwest of Berlin and is part of the Grunewald chain of lakes. Beside “Schlachtensee” there is another lake called “Krumme Lanke” beside it. “Krumme Lanke” is also the name of the station to reach both lakes on the U3 line. Alternate there is S-Bahn-Station on the S1 called “Schlachtensee”

My personal experience

My girlfriend and I go to Schlachtensee sometimes to take a walk around the lake, what is 5.5km. In summer the lake is also very popular for swimming. Here are some pictures of a visit in January followed by some of early October.
